The vice-chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), Norbert Basengezi Katintima said Saturday during an exchange with the journalists that 700,000 witnesses have already obtained their accreditations, while 270,000 national and international observers have been registered and 1575 journalists including 84 internationals have obtained their badges.

Mr Norbert Basengezi Katintima who gave an update on the accreditation of the witnesses of independent candidates, political parties and groups, national and international observers and journalists as well as on the practical arrangements of the voting day on 30 December 2018, recalled the set of steps of how to vote.

"The voting machine remains the technological tool by which the elector will have to print his choice," he said before emphasizing the active involvement of the witnesses, journalists observers at the stage and the opening of the vote offices to one of counting.

The Vice-chairman of the CENI recalled that with the end of the campaign period throughout the national territory, the time is no longer to conquer voters but to appeasement and therefore to a responsible behavior until the day of voting scheduled for Sunday, December 30, 2018.
