A special commission to draft the rules of procedure of the Senate was set up on Tuesday after a plenary session at the People's Palace under the leadership of the president of the provisional office, Léon Mamboleo Moghuba Itundalimba.

Chaired by Professor Evariste Boshab, former President of the National Assembly, this commission of 50 members is made up of 2 senators per province and 4 for the city of Kinshasa. It has ten days to adapt the former 2007 regulation to the current conditions.

Out of 9 senators whose mandates have been validated, 4 are women. Among the senators who had given up their mandates were Willy Bakonga Wilima, Michel Bongongo Ikoli Ndombo, all former ministers and a former governor of Kasai Oriental, Alphonse Ngoyi Kasanji.
