A fire broke out Tuesday night around 21h, when the capital of Sud Kivu was vibrating with the rest of the country at the rate of victory of the "Leopards" 4-0 against Zimbabwe in the African Cup of Nations (CAN) of soccer. According to local sources, the fire started from a house where a mum made donuts and where a fuel dealer kept at least ten cans of gas.

The report mentions a seven-year-old girl burned, three wounded and about 300 houses burned. President Félix Tshisekedi had expressed his condolences to the grieving family of the little girl named Furaha Mugisho Nakalonge, before instructing all the concerned actors and mainly the local authorities to take the necessary preventive measures to avoid the recurrence of these disasters.
